Tanya Carter is a veteran educator with over 35 years of experience across rural, suburban, and urban school districts, spanning elementary, middle, and high school education. She has served as a teacher, special education director, staff developer, principal, and principal supervisor.
For several years, Tanya was an Instructional Superintendent with Denver Public Schools, where she supervised turnaround schools and school leaders, providing leadership development, instructional system design, and professional learning support. Under her leadership, all schools in her portfolio successfully moved out of turnaround status.
After retiring from DPS, Tanya served as a Program Director for New Leaders, coaching principal supervisors, principals, and Instructional Leadership Teams through professional learning and on-the-ground coaching across Texas, Florida, North Carolina, California, and Washington State.
