Biaze Houston, The Impact Team

Dr. Biaze Houston, a proud Colorado original and first-generation college graduate, has dedicated over 20 years to championing educational justice and excellence. She believes that a high-quality education is not a privilege, but a right, and has spent her career creating environments that uplift students and unleash their full potential.

Since 2021, Dr. Houston has served as the Chief of District Support for the University of Virginia Partnership for Leaders in Education (PLE). In this role, she partners with district leaders across the country, driving transformative change to ensure better outcomes for all students. Dr. Houston’s career has spanned multiple leadership roles, including Director of Assessment Literacy and Instruction, middle school turnaround Principal (where her leadership earned the school Colorado’s highest performance rating and recognition as a Center of Excellence), Assistant Principal at the high school and 6th-12th grade levels, and teacher in elementary, middle, and high school settings.

Dr. Houston has also contributed to the Colorado Department of Education’s State Review Panel for the past 15 years and offers private consulting in leadership and organizational development. Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Houston is very active in her community. 

She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver, an M.A. in Teaching and Learning from the University of Phoenix, and a B.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from Colorado State University.

Dr. Houston and her husband, Polica, are the proud parents of two dynamic daughters, Avani and Sade, who keep them inspired and grounded.
