Dr. Angelina Walker is an experienced educational leader, leadership developer, and school improvement strategist with a deep commitment to building equitable systems that elevate student outcomes, strengthen leadership capacity, and empower school communities. With expertise spanning school turnaround, principal development, talent management, and organizational leadership, she partners with district and school leaders to create sustainable systems that improve teaching, learning, and organizational effectiveness.
As a former principal, Dr. Walker successfully led her school from Red to Green on the Denver Public Schools Performance Framework, moving the school off the accountability clock by centering community voice, implementing restorative practices, and developing equitable systems that supported both students and staff. Under her leadership, the school achieved 92% student attendance, zero suspensions, and more than 95% teacher retention, demonstrating the power of strong leadership, high expectations, and collaborative school culture.
As a High Priority School Improvement Partner with the Elevate Network, Dr. Walker worked alongside principals in Denver Public Schools’ highest-priority schools to accelerate improvement through strategic planning, data-driven decision making, leadership coaching, and systems development. Her work emphasizes building leadership capacity so that schools develop the internal expertise necessary to sustain long-term success.
Dr. Walker is also a recognized leadership developer and advocate for expanding diverse leadership pipelines. She co-designed a nationally recognized assistant principal development curriculum that achieved a 65% promotion rate within one year, led equity-focused talent mapping processes to reduce bias and strengthen succession planning, and developed equity audits that support districts in creating more inclusive leadership systems. Her expertise has extended nationally through partnerships with Baltimore Public Schools and Towson University, and her contributions to advancing racial equity in education have been recognized by the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED).
Grounded in the values of equity, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, Dr. Walker combines executive coaching, intercultural development, and systems thinking to help leaders navigate complex challenges, strengthen instructional and organizational practices, and build schools where every student and educator can thrive. She is passionate about developing transformational leaders who foster inclusive cultures, inspire excellence, and create lasting impact for students and communities.
