Liz Tencate – Content Specialist, Literacy and Math, The Impact Team

Liz Tencate is an accomplished education leader with over 25 years of experience, including 18 years in administrative leadership at both the district and school levels. She most recently served as Interim Chief of Teaching and Learning for Colorado Springs District 11 and has held roles as Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction and principal of multiple schools in Denver.
Liz has led diverse school models, including Highly Gifted and Talented Magnet, International Baccalaureate, Dual Language, Title I, and traditional neighborhood schools. Under her leadership, schools have earned National Blue Ribbon and John Irwin School of Excellence Awards. As a district executive leader, she played a key role in reducing the number of priority improvement schools from 15 to 3.
She specializes in instructional leadership, strategic planning, leadership development, and designing instructional systems that drive significant academic growth. Liz is highly skilled in mentoring leaders, fostering strong community partnerships, and implementing social-emotional learning support systems to create high-performing school environments.
