Sherry is a committed educational leader with nearly 30 years of experience in public education. She began her career as an elementary teacher in a Title school and has taught at both the elementary and middle school levels. She has also served as an assistant principal and principal. Sherry is currently an area superintendent leading a network of twelve schools (elementary through high school and early college) in the southeast part of Colorado Springs.
Sherry specializes in serving leaders, staffs, and students in diverse communities, and in turnaround leadership. Her work played a role in moving her current district from 15 schools on the state accountability clock to just three, in two years. Her work focuses at the leadership systems level, including observation/feedback, data cycles, instructional planning, and school culture.
Sherry is a Colorado native who deeply understands the climate for public schools in this state. She is dedicated to improving academic outcomes for all students.
