Sherry Kalbach is an accomplished educational leader with nearly 30 years of experience serving students, educators, and school communities across Colorado. As a Special Projects Consultant with The Impact Team, she supports school and district leaders in strengthening leadership systems, accelerating school improvement efforts, and building organizational capacity to improve student outcomes.
Throughout her career, Sherry has served as an elementary and middle school teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district leader. Her experience spans Title I schools, diverse student populations, and schools at varying levels of performance, providing her with a deep understanding of the instructional, operational, and leadership conditions necessary to achieve sustainable improvement.
Sherry currently serves as an Area Superintendent, leading a network of twelve schools, including elementary, middle, high school, and early college campuses in the Colorado Springs region. In this role, she coaches principals, supports leadership teams, monitors school performance, facilitates strategic planning, and guides the implementation of district priorities to improve teaching, learning, and organizational effectiveness.
A recognized leader in school improvement and turnaround efforts, Sherry has played a key role in helping her district dramatically improve school performance, contributing to a reduction from fifteen schools on the state accountability clock to just three schools within two years. Her success stems from a relentless focus on leadership development, instructional coherence, accountability systems, and continuous improvement processes that translate strategy into measurable results.
Sherry’s expertise includes leadership coaching, turnaround leadership, instructional planning, observation and feedback systems, data-driven improvement cycles, school culture development, and organizational effectiveness. She is particularly skilled at helping leaders establish the systems, routines, and accountability structures necessary to improve instructional practice and accelerate student achievement.
Known for her practical approach, strong relationships, and unwavering focus on results, Sherry partners side-by-side with leaders to identify priorities, strengthen implementation, and build sustainable systems that support long-term success. Her work reflects a deep belief that strong leadership, effective systems, and high expectations are essential to ensuring all students have access to excellent educational opportunities.
